kalaripayattu, the traditional martial art of kerala has a rich heritage wich it reflects our old vibrant culture an tradition. along with dance, music and other art form this traditional martial art is also encouraged by its exponenents. art for entertainment has always thrived, even in yhough economi times. but in the case of kalari the story is different. it slowly loosing its orginal traditional structure, due to lack of application in the curent times.

the mith about kalari is that it is traced to sage parasurama, the sixt avathar of vishnu who belived to have reclaimed the state kerala from arabian sea. this art form developed its tacts and techniques by closely imitating nature. this art was extenceively were used in the battles.

another historical fact is that the birth of chinese martial art the KUNGFU is developed from indian art form kalari. the grand master bhoodi dharman who was a king of chola of south india teached his tricks and techniques to chinese peoples and that was the grand birth of chinese art form kungfu.
